When I was in college, I remember "the wrap dress" becoming this huge trend because it hugged a woman in all the right places, and was forgiving in all the right places. I thought it looked so classy and feminine on the all girls going to their sorority parties, but I never felt like they were my style. My aesthetic, although feminine, is and was more laid-back and eclectic versus buttoned up and fancy. I thought other girls looked great in wrap dresses, but I just wasn't into the A line, 3/4 sleeve with a floral print type I had seen so much of.
When I found this Marc Jacobs wrap dress at Wasteland, a fantastic consignment store with a few shops around LA, I was immediately drawn to the modern fit and smoldering blue color. I loved how effortless and fitted the shape was, with the blue suede like fabric giving it a little character. (Here I'm wearing cut off shorts underneath since the dress is more of a mini on me, one slight drawback of being tall:)) I am definitely not your typical wrap dress wearing girl, but this modern take on one has me reconsidering the shape and style!
Do you guys like the more modern take, or are you more a fan of the original?
